Greetings from Church of Peace 06-06-13

Greetings from Church of Peace!

A widow and her young son are totally out of food.  The prophet Elijah comes on the scene.  What happens in this Bible story will amaze you.  Come Sunday at 8:45 and hear the whole account.  We’ll also discuss it tonight at the NEW Worship service in the Upper Room of Gammert Hall at 6:30 p.m.  Either way, join us to have your faith deepened as you experience a sense of God’s nearness.

This Friday and Saturday is the Annual Meeting of the Wisconsin Conference of the United Church of Christ.  Jim and Jenny will be presenting two workshops on blended worship.  Several members of the congregation will be in attendance at the conference.

George Scott remains hospitalized at Mayo Clinic in Rochester.  Please remember him in your prayers.

On Monday, the Church of Peace softball team plays at 9:00 p.m. at Cutler Field.

There will be a new member orientation on Wednesday.  Please let us know if you would like to attend.

We will be honoring our graduates on June 16th.  Please call Jackie (921-8215) if someone in your household is graduating from high school, technical school, or college.

That’s the news from Church of Peace.

We’ll see you in church!  Pastors Jenny and Jim

A prayer for today: Do I trust you, O God?  My first answer would be “yes” but then I catch myself fretting and worrying about many things.  Today, calm my anxious heart and show me how to live in patient trust.  Restore my sense of inner peace and outer joy.  I pray that George Scott will continue to heal and that he will feel the support and affection not only of heaven, but also of his church family.  Amen.
