Greetings from Church of Peace 12/01/16

Greetings from Church of Peace,

The Second Sunday of Advent brings us the candle of peace, a message from John the Baptist, and the sacrament of Holy Communion. Join us at 8:45 a.m. this Sunday for a service of renewal and peace.

We extend our Christian sympathy to the families of Dale Kleineschay and David Denslow whose funerals are being held this week.

It’s time to sign up for Golden’s Fellowship’s fun “doo-dad” spotting on Tuesday, December 6th and for Christmas Caroling on Sunday, December 18th. The sign-up sheets are in Gammert Hall.

Want some Advent inspiration? Here’s the link to Jim’s song Wavin’ at the Cars that people have been asking for. It’s a song about a chance encounter with a homeless veteran. https://youtu.be/huoQpnWCUO4

Construction news: The stairs from the narthex to the sanctuary are nearing completion. The new fire-proof room for our important documents has taken shape. The workers are tearing up the old hall way flooring near the kitchen. The bathrooms will be getting plumbing fixtures later this week.

That’s the news from Church of Peace.

I’ll see you in church! Pastor Jenny

A prayer for Advent: O God of hope and peace, I pray for hope and peace in my heart, in my family, in the world. Please bring the comfort of your nearness to the families of Dale Kleineschay and David Denslow. Show me how to shine the light of your love in our often-darkened world. Amen.
