Lenten Greetings from Church of Peace 03-12-15

Greetings from Church of Peace on this Lenten Wednesday!

“Commitment” is the theme of the Lenten worship for tonight.  Join us at 7:00 p.m. as we deepen our faith together.  Andy Griffith will provide the sermon.

Tomorrow night (Thursday) you have another opportunity for growth in faith.  The Bible study begins a new book – the Gospel of Mark. Join us at 6:30 in Gammert Hall.

Our Sunday School students will bless us with an anthem this Sunday.  The service will focus on the prophet Micah’s command to “Do justice, love kindness, and walk humbly with God.”  Our service begins at 8:45 a.m.

Sunday is COP Day at the YMCA!  The facilities will be open for our church family’s use from 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.  It’s all free, even the pizza lunch.  Thanks to our Stewardship Ministry Team for providing this opportunity for us.

Saturday morning at 9:00 a.m. the Shawl Ministers invite you to join them for a time of conversation and stitchery.

This Sunday we begin our annual One Great Hour of Sharing Offering.  Please prayerfully consider a generous gift to this fund which provides disaster relief around the world all year long. The OGHS offering will be received on Palm Sunday.

That’s the news from Church of Peace.

We’ll see you in church!  Pastors Jenny and Jim

A prayer for today: Deepen my commitment to you and to your ways, O God. I yearn to be closer to you and to be more faithful. Make me an instrument of your peace.  Amen.
