Greetings from Church of Peace - January 12, 2012

Greetings from Church of Peace on this snowy day!

Jesus calling the disciples is the gospel story for Sunday; we’ll think together about what Christ calls us to do as modern day disciples.  The youth choir will sing.

Following worship, at 10:00, there will be a meeting to discuss the 2012 budget proposal with the Council.  The meeting will be held in the choir room. This is a time for all members to ask questions and give suggestions on this year’s spending plans.

We are planning to hold Faith Boost tonight at 6:30. If it is cancelled due to snow, we will post it on the website and broadcast it on KFIZ 1450 radio.

Pat Pratt is hospitalized at St. Agnes. Please pray for her speedy and complete recovery from knee surgery.

Next Tuesday you are invited to have some fun with the Golden Fellowship.  Pastor Jim and Denny Smith are teaming up to bring a Lionel train to Gammert Hall.  We’ll assemble and operate the train and then enjoy a good lunch together.  Please sign up in the narthex so we know how many to expect for lunch.

That’s the news from Church of Peace.

See you in church!  Pastors Jenny and Jim

A prayer for today: O God who warms my heart on every chilly day, I ask your presence with all who have to be outside today.  May they be safe and have ways to stay warm.  Bless Pat Pratt as she recovers from surgery.  And bless me as I try to be a faithful disciple of Jesus in this time and place.  Amen.
